Cathay Pacific Cooperates with Health Authorities on Confirmed Case of Influenza A (H1N1)

Cathay Pacific Airways was notified by Hong Kong health authorities today (Saturday 23 May) that a female passenger on CX831 who arrived at Hong Kong International Airport at 7:33pm HK time on Friday (22 May) from New York (departure date 21 May) has since tested positive for Influenza A (H1N1).

The passenger was seated in the Economy Class section in seat 31K. There were 39 passengers in the same cabin zone.

According to Cathay Pacific records, fifteen of those ended their journey in Hong Kong while the remaining 24 were transit passengers to Johannesburg (1), Guangzhou (1), Taipei (5), Beijing (1), Bangkok (2), Shanghai (4), Manila (7), Singapore (1), Hangzhou (1) and Kaohsiung (1).

A total of 300 passengers, four cockpit crew and 14 cabin crew were on board the flight.

Cathay Pacific will comply with requests from Hong Kong health authorities to provide details of the passengers and the operation crew manifest to determine if medical follow-up is necessary.
