Cathay Pacific Extends Codeshare Services to United States

Cathay Pacific Airways today announced an increase in the number of cities in the United States to which it will operate codeshare flights with oneworld alliance partner American Airlines.

From 1 November 2003, Cathay Pacific passengers will be able to fly to Nashville, New Orleans, Pittsburgh, Raleigh Durham and Tampa on "CX"-coded flights operated by American Airlines after flying on Cathay Pacific to Los Angeles.

This brings to 26 the number cities in the US to which Cathay Pacific operates either direct or codeshare passenger services. Tickets to these additional destinations go on sale from today.

This expansion of the codeshare agreement with American Airlines fulfils terms of the air service agreement signed by the US and Hong Kong governments last year.

Cathay Pacific Airways Director Corporate Development Tony Tyler said: "This is a welcome expansion to our codeshare agreement with American Airlines, and adds even greater depth and convenience to the service we already provide customers heading to and from the United States. Whether starting their journey in the US or Asia, passengers have the convenience of being able to check in through to their final destination. They can also take full advantage of services provided by both airlines."
