Dragonair to Launch Daily Service to Tokyo Haneda from March 2015

Dragonair to Launch Daily Service to Tokyo Haneda from March 2015

Dragonair announced today that it will commence a new daily service between Hong Kong and Haneda Airport in Tokyo beginning 29 March 2015 (subject to government approval), further strengthening the airline's network in Asia and boosting its presence in Japan. The new service is an addition to the existing 14 flights per week to Haneda offered by sister airline Cathay Pacific Airways, which also operates 35 flights per week to Narita International Airport.

Tokyo will be Dragonair's third destination in Japan and becomes the 16th destination to have been launched or resumed by the airline since April 2012. Dragonair currently operates daily flights between Hong Kong and Fukuoka and four weekly flights to Okinawa.

The new service to Haneda Airport will be operated by the airline's fleet of Airbus A320 aircraft in a two-class configuration. Dragonair's premium passengers flying out of Haneda will be able to make use of the brand-new Cathay Pacific lounge at the airport. Tickets for the new service are now available for sale.

Dragonair Chief Executive Officer Algernon Yau said: "We are very pleased to add Tokyo to our growing Asia network. Japan's capital has long been an important destination for Hong Kong people, for both business and leisure travel, and we believe our new service will provide passengers with a wider choice of travel options. It also demonstrates our ongoing commitment to strengthening Hong Kong's position as one of the world's great international aviation hubs."

The schedule for the Hong Kong - Tokyo (HND) service from 29 March 2015 and the Tokyo (HND) - Hong Kong service from 30 March 2015 is as follows (all times local, subject to government approval):

Dragonair is committed to offering passengers a premium travel experience and since early 2013 has been rolling out a comprehensive upgrade of cabins across its Airbus A330 and A321 fleets, including new First Class, Business Class and Economy Class seats together with a brand-new on-demand inflight entertainment system, StudioKA. Last month Dragonair began the next step in enhancing the passenger experience by introducing new cabins on its A320 aircraft.
