Swire Properties and Sino-Ocean Land, joint developers of the Chengdu Daci Temple Cultural and Commercial Complex, hosted a groundbreaking ceremony on site on 29 April 2011.
Officiating the ceremony were Mr Christopher Pratt, Chairman of Swire Pacific Ltd. and Swire Properties Ltd. and Mr Chen Runfu, Executive Director & Vice President of Sino-Ocean Land Holdings Ltd. Over 200 guests in attendance witnessed the birth of a major commercial and cultural centre in Chengdu.
The Daci Temple project, located in the heart of Chengdu and the popular Chunxi Road shopping area in Jinjiang District, will be conveniently accessible from the future subway interchange station of Lines 2 and 3. With a site area of 762,251 sq ft (70,779 sqm), the project will form a large scale urban complex comprising a premium shopping centre, a boutique hotel with over 100 guest rooms, serviced apartments and a Grade-A office tower.
The Daci Temple project is a fusion of Chengdu's unique cultural assets with the pursuit of a creative and fashionable lifestyle. The project is scheduled for a phased opening beginning in 2014 to offer a vibrant revitalisation for the Daci Temple and its surrounding area in Jinjiang District.
