Swire Properties today (Friday, 19 May 2000) announced tenancy changes to The Mall at Pacific Place to upgrade the selection by introducing new retailers. The move is a major step to reinforce Pacific Place's leadership in the retail industry in the region.
Anchor tenant, Seibu, will revamp the retail space on L1 and L2 and introduce contemporary fashion and fashion accessories to the fashion-conscious customers.
A first ever food concept store will be created and operated by AS Watsons in the basement. The new store will bring a completely new experience of food selection in a combination of an international fine deli and an upmarket gourmet food hall.
The high-end fashion collections on L3 will be further strengthened with the opening of a new store by Louis Vuitton, an Escada flagship store, and an expanded Hermes shop, offering shoppers with a newer and fuller selection of fine products from these international brands.
The renovations at Pacific Place will start when the food hall COO closed for reinstatement on 21 May. Renovation at Seibu and the new fashion shops will commence in June and August respectively. The upgrade of Pacific Place will be completed in time for the 10th anniversary celebration of Pacific Place in October. Enticing marketing and promotions incentives will also be unveiled from June to the shoppers.
Mr Jolyon Culbertson, Director & General Manager of Swire Properties, said: "This is a significant move to upgrade the brand mix at the shopping mall to satisfy our sophisticated customers."
"Undoubtedly, the new additions will reinforce the position of Pacific Place as the leading shopping mall in Hong Kong and in Asia," added Mr Culbertson.
