Air China Cargo Co. Ltd. ("Air China Cargo") and Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering Company Limited's ("HAECO Group's") subsidiary Taikoo (Xiamen) Aircraft Engineering Company Limited ("TAECO") jointly announced today that TAECO has completed the first Boeing 757-200 converted freighter for Air China Cargo. The aircraft is the 7th Boeing 757-200 freighter conversion completed by TAECO with its Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) partner Precision Conversions, LLC ("Precision Conversions"). The process took 105 days, including a concurrent heavy maintenance check, and aircraft exterior strip and repainting work. The TAECO relationship with Air China Cargo started in 2003. Air China Cargo operates three freighter aircraft and three converted freighters. TAECO completed the first conversion of a Boeing 757-200PCF passenger aircraft into freighter configuration in 2010.
A redelivery ceremony was held on 14 November in Xiamen, Fujian Province, China. Wang Jun, Vice President, Corporate Development of Air China Cargo said: "We are very delighted to have chosen TAECO as our freighter conversion service provider. Boeing 757-200PCF is a new freighter type in our fleet. The on-time redelivery of this new freighter is very important for Air China Cargo, demonstrating a real sense of commitment to Enter Into Service (EIS) for its charter customer.
