From Housing Estates to Hoops and Glory
Supported by Swire Trust, the “Building Community, Building Tung Chung” programme is committed to catering for the needs of society. As its project partner, InspiringHK Sports Foundation aims to empower youths through different sports initiatives, including the WELL DUNK! Public Estate Basketball League & Training Programme. Having grown up in Tung Chung, On is one of the programme’s participants. He learned to persevere through the training and competitions provided and is working towards his goal of becoming a professional basketball player.
To Build a Better Community
Swire Properties’ Placemaking Academy incorporates placemaking and sustainability to nurture the creativity and execution skills of future generations. When Calvin was a student intern at the Academy, he learned the ropes of event planning and participated in organising the White Christmas Street Fair. Now he pays it forward by sharing his knowledge with new Placemaking Academy students.
This is what community means – ensuring everyone, including yourself, is engaged.
